About Me

I was born and raised in the funny lil' town of Melbourne, Fl. I spent 20 years there before I realized that I was never gonna do anything with my life if I didn't get the hell out. I put all my shit in a u-haul and drove up to Boone, NC where I made a new home, and new family. As a matter o'fact, my favorite people in FL are the one's I still see every now and then. Boone treated me well. I finished school there (against all odds). I got a degree in B.S.,...I mean a B.S. in, well, whatever! Eventually the cops started making it impossible to have a good time in Boone, so I rolled my ass down the mountain to Asheville, which is by far the coolest city I have ever lived in. I immedietly felt at home moving here (except for the fact that I had a cuban maffia, santeria practicing chicken sacraficer for a land lord). We quickly moved out of that house, and into a much chiller house .9 miles away from the old one. I haven't seen the landlord since then, but every now and then I feel a pain in my side and assume it's him inserting a needle into the voodoo doll he made of me out of the hair and clothes he probably found after we moved out. I have since purchased a nice three bedroom house on the side of a mountain (15 min from downtown Asheville) with a great view, turkeys and llamas, goats and horses chillin as you drive to my place. I used to surf. Got tired of waiting for waves, so I started skating. Was doing tricks, stairs and vert ramps, when I discovered long boards. My desires switched over to getting speed (not the drug, I'm already way to hyper to take any kind of speed). I was in pursuit of the steepest hill on Earth up in the Georgia area, when I almost lost my life at a speed of 37 mph. I decided to lay off the extreme sports for a while and focus on music. I have been playing guitar since I was about 11. For those of you that suck at math, that's 17 years. I'm not as good as someone who has been playing guitar for 17 years should be, because I spent most of that time teaching myself to play (when I wasn't chasing girls). My High School band "Legion" was a success. We always had packed out shows at the venues we would play at. It kind of gave me the first taste of what I was to experience on a larger scale years down the road. Life is good. I live with my girlfriend Kara and her daughter Tauri. I play music with and do promotions for my current band; Yo Mama's Big Fat Booty Band (www.bootyband.com). I also book a reggae band by the name of Hope Massive (hopemassive.com). That is how I make my living. I like working in the music industry, not only as a performer, but as a business man as well. Eventually I just want to play, but for now it is very interesting learning the ropes, being involved, and it also suppliments my income. I play a bunch of intruments, some beter than others, but here is a list: guitar, bass, percussion, drums, keyboard, sitar, mandolin, banjo, didjeridoo, ukalele, melodica, slide whistle, mini harmonica, vocals. I enjoy being in the woods. I love hiking, camping and canoeing. Sine I moved up to the mountains, I have been doing alot of snowboarding. I've been so busy lately and global warming is making it harder to get good conditions, so I did not ride much this season. But I still love it. I actually worked at a couple different mountains when I lived in Boone. Aside from having to answer to some of the stupidest (and I mean stupid) people I have ever met, I found working on the mountain to be very meditative. Something about being outside on a big snow covered mountain really makes you feel alive. If you made it this far, you must really be interested in who I am. I would write more, but I'm getting bored talking about myself. If you want to know more, email me or check out my bands web-site...I also just started a real cool side project with members of lots of great bands (George Clinton and P-Funk, Galactic, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk, The Lee Boys , Soular System, Laura Reed, Ralph Roddenbery, Sci-Fi, Inca Maya and The Booty Band of course). It is called "The Big Ol' Nasty Getdown," or "B.O.N.G" for short. For more info, visit http://www.myspace.com/bigolnastygetdown

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

People with no names. I tell you, travelling around all the time meeting all sorts of new people every day gets to be a lil much when it comes to rememering anyones name. It would be so much nicer if we just smiled and said hello instead of trying to go through all the names in our head, trying to find a suitable guess. I remember faces,...so in short, that's who I want to meet,...people with faces.
