MR. O

“Music has always been a passion”, said MR. O. From the first time he saw the band play at a High school football game as a child, to growing up with his older cousins being introduced to Hip-Hop for the first time. Born (June 1, 1981) and raised in Houston, TX, Oliver Davis, II ~aka~ MR. O is the son of a single mother and the product of a father that never really had much time for him. He was the man of the house to his mother and younger brother at age 3. MR. O grew up in 5th Ward, TX and Kashmere Garden on the Northeast Side of H-Town. He spent his childhood as a young athlete with Baseball as his primary sport. During his High School years his mom moved the fam to Humble where her two boys could attend better and safer schools. “Growing up in the Hood was an everyday battle, from the walk to school during Starter Jacket Jack era, to the battle in the classrooms.” “Humble wasn’t the nicest part of Houston at the time but it was more cultured…we were still living like we did in the hood, the money didn’t really change!” After High School MR. O had College in mind, but without the money it would have been a burden on is mother, so he enlisted into the United States Air Force. He spent four years of hell gaining a lot of knowledge about the red necks and the world. “I was the most hated in the military, every chance they got to try and kick me out they took it.” It was here where he then realized that he had to become more than what society told him he was and become a boss himself. It was also in the military where is passion for music grew. After his family suffered the loss of one of H-Towns finest, the late great Big Mello, MR. O decided to pick up the mic on a serious note as his uncle passed the torch. “I was able to met MC’s from all over the country…I gained a lot of respect for my sound and style!” During his time in these many siffers is where he met the Owner/CEO on www.MoonPhaseRecords.com Bobby Johnson. They kept in touch through the years as MR. O traveled the globe to places like Thailand, Amsterdam, Paris and etc. He also did a lot of work with Pype Dreams Ent and had countless tracks produced by a local well known Artist/Producer, DJ Coldblooded. After the grind, a few Mix Tape, and www.myspace.com/mrotexas, MR. O linked back up with Moon Phase Records in 2007 and became the first Hip-Hop artist to sign with the LLC. He is now working on his first debut solo album Coming Soon!
