Neurotica’s ‘Gently With A Chainsaw’ SS/09 collection owes much of its ‘sinister-sweet’ inspired aesthetic to the classic 80’s black comedy – ‘Heather’s’. Designer Victoria McGrane’s latest range continues to offer compelling contrasts of strong masculine tailoring juxtaposed with feminine flourishes; trademark dresses accompanied by quirky trousers, jackets and skirts in her signature hand-designed prints.

"Drawing inspiration from fairytales, myths, faraway lands, Scandinavian folklore and the intangible feeling of nostalgia associated with old photos and dusty attics, Victoria McGrane has created a collection of musings reflected in the main prints – 'Reflections', ‘Stormrider’ and ‘Faraway Tree’. Inky hand drawn images add a whimsical narrative to the bold silhouette of the collection.
Being at once fragile and tailored, sophisticated and gentle the collection is essentially feminine yet strong and assertive."

"For spring summer 2008, Neurotica challenges the conventions of
fashion producing "Dark Heart/Grinning Soul" an all black spring
summer collection. Taking inspiration from Constructivism and Suprematism, the collection has strong links to the cult classic Bladerunner and has been designed to the soundtrack of David Bowies’ Aladdin Sane and Pink Floyds’ Dark Side of the Moon."
