When Max and Victor, after countless days and
nights in the studio, had to choose a name for t
heir production team, the name MAVIX quickly came up.
The name, which is a contraction and fusion
between their first names, was a natural choice,
because it illustrates the constant collaboration
and interaction between the two friends.Victor is the younger brother to hiphop pioneer and legendary producer and DJ, Phase 5 and Max is the son of Leif Roden, the lead singer in the innovate cult 60?s rock band, Alrune Rod. Naturally, both have grown up surrounded by music, so the rhythm is in their veins.
They have known each other since the early teenage years, where they met in school. With their great love for music in general, and hiphop in particular, they quickly bonded and made music early. It started as a spare time hobby, but with time, it became their career. To further develop their musical skills and learn more of the processes with producers at the next level, they became trainees with Danish top producers. Max hooked up with production team Copenhaniacs, and Victor hooked up with big bro Phase. After completing the traineeships, MAVIX signed with Zu-J records (Phase 5's newly started record company) and they built their own studio from scratch next to Phase`s studio. There, they have resided and represented ever since.
MAVIX' breakthrough came with the Danish rapper Clemens. After various minor collaborations , they agreed to produce the majority of his fourth album "Danser Med Døden" [Dancing With Death]. Lyrically and musically, the album was praised in the mainstream media as well as the more underground media.
Since then, they have been working on albums for K-Dub (Kuku Agami), N.O.B.L.E., L::Ron Harald and Ruus. From abroad, there has also been demand for MAVIX productions, as they have remixed hits by international r&b and rap stars, such as JoJo, Bobby Valentino, Joe and Big Brovaz.
MAVIX find inspiration from diverse music - everything from old soul and funk records to Eastern folk music. This inspirational diversity translates clearly to the their versatile sound which is melodic and catchy r&b, grimey hardcore hiphop, club bangers etc.
With great talent and the right attitude to their music and the music industry, their ambitions is to further manifest MAVIX in the Danish hiphop scene, as well as expand internationally and establish themselves abroad. When this happens, unlike some Danish producers who made it big time, MAVIX will never ever forget the Danish rap scene. Therefore, even when MAVIX blow up internationally, Danish rappers will still be spittin , rhymes over blazin MAVIX beats.
