In 2002, I graduated from Edinburgh College of Art with a BA(hons) in Glass and Architectural Glass. I loved studying in Edinburgh; the glass department was full of amazing characters so we had some great laughs.
In my third year at ECA I spent a couple of months in Alfred University in New York State, studying Direct Glass Casting and Blown Glass sculpture. It was one of the best experiences of my life so far.Alfred is the total opposite of Edinburgh; It’s a small university town with only a few shops and diners. I was there in wintertime and I have never seen so much snow! Everything revolves around the college and the people work really hard, they also know how to throw a good party!Since graduating, I have continued glassmaking using kiln formed techniques and have created a range of glass jewellery. I also work with Artlink Central, which is a totally worthwhile charity, which organises art projects in the community.
