Hyperabundance

About Me

Hyperabundance is a personal project.
It's a playground. A concept. A philosophy. A workout. An experiment.
An adventurous road to be on. A way to prop up my mental health.
It's a great joy to me and I hope you enjoy it too.

THE HYPERABUNDANCE CHARTER
---------------------------------------
1. Make a virtue of necessity.
2. Express hypercomplex non-verbal emotional matter through the creative use of sound.
3. Anything that makes sound therefor has potential and can be used.
4. Self-educate by methods of ad randomness, trial and error, coïncedence or synchronism, intuition and highly imaginative deduction.
5. Ignore the destination, focus on the journey wherever it will lead.
6. Only create from the urge or need to be creative.

THE HYPERABUNDANCE SOUND RESERVOIR
---------------------------------------------------
Any sound is usefull... That opens many doors. Especially when you are not a trained musician. So I started listening to everyday sounds in a different way. I think of what they mean to me, what they remind me of, how they make me feel. there's a lot of interesting things out there. Building sites, train stations, sounds from the streets and weather.. I record (using modest means) all sorts of sounds that I find interesting and afterwards fool around with them (engineering the sounds). And I add some 'normal musical sounds' to finish it off. I love to use the voices of animals, our planet or the stars, the universe and all the mysterious things nature gives us. I would never have dreamed there's so many things that can be expressed by means of frequency. I believe it puts a bit of organic spice to the world of electronical music. Because these 'non-musical' sounds are just not that straight, tight, organised or repetitive. They don't fit in the normally restricted realms of frequency. This matches the organic way I take up producing: I just follow my belly and ears. There are so many rules in everyday life, so many 'best ways' to do this or that... It is great fun to have a project in which you can just not care about these rules, without harming or limiting anybody else. To have an innocent playground to develop yourself. In which you can stretch your own boundaries into levels you couldn't have imagined before. All this is what my project is about.
