Mario Fanizzi was born in Foggia, a little town in south-east Italy, on june 3rd 1987. He started studying piano at the age of 6. At the age of 18 he started to play jazz. In November 2006 Mario was awarded a scholarship to attend BERKLEE COLLEGE OF MUSIC in Boston and he became a full time student in May 2007. He has studied with Antonio Ciacca, (Lincoln Center Director and pianist with benny golson, steve lacy and others) , and currently studies with Ross Ramsay.Mario has attended clinics and studied with: Eddie Gomez, Benny Golson, Steve Khun, Billy Drummond, Owen Hart jr, Wess Anderson, Nicola Angelucci, Lucio Ferrara. He has also performed with: Nathaniel Facey, David Preston, Francesco Ricucci, Francesco Palmitessa, Michael Tracy,Mara De Mutiis, Giovanni Cafaro and others...
