About Me
" Born in Milan on Nov 16th, 1970, a rainy winter day..."
OK probably not what you want to hear. Let's try it this way:
My musical education: I am basically self taught on bass, I took some piano lessons when I was a kid but hated the teacher.
What I listen to: I should say everything.. Afro American music, soul , latin funk & salsa, Top 40, south-african gospel...
First instrument owned: a toy keyboard when I was 5.
Favourite musicians: wow just one?. Junior Wells & Buddy Guy, James Brown, BBKing, James Taylor, Elvis, Stevie Wonder, the Beatles,......
Bass players that influenced my playing: Willie Dixon, Johnny B. Gayden, Paul McCartney, Jerry Scheff and moreover I like Marcus Miller, Noel Neal, and this unknown gospel bass player that was something else!
Favourite grooves: bassline in "The moon is full" by Albert Collins, "Penny lane" by theBeatles, but there are so many!
Best places to play: Chicago, Seattle, Rome, Paris
First band: Trutz Viking Groth a r'n'r band
My first record: Sun Sessions by Elvis
The last record I bought: Marvin Gaye live, Neville Brothers live on planet earth, Albert Collins collection ( I never make it out of the record store with less than 3-4 CDs at a time.!)
I'd love to play with: BB King, Neville Brothers, ...
I love playing with: Sugar Blue
What's good a about being on the road: driving, seeing places, hanging with the band, fighting on what CD to listen to on the van.
What I hate on the road: waking up early ( I mean early!) to get to the next gig.
