Emmy Q. was born in Stamford, CT in 1987. From a very early age, Emmy's musical talent was evident. As a toddler Emmy would open up and sing anything from Broadway show tunes to the latest pop hit by Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, or Jaci Velazquez for her family or whoever happened to be at the house. Emmy was never shy about singing; it was a constant in her otherwise chaotic young life. Emmy's parents divorced when she was 3. Her mother remarried in 1994 and the new family relocated to Port Charlotte, FL. Florida was a new world for Emmy, she was only seven and she was learning how to live in a new environment without her network of extended family. Emmy flourished though; her Christian parents encouraged her to sing in the youth choir at their church. Not surprisingly, Emmy quickly gained notice from church leaders and members. By the age of 14, she had been in over a dozen churches and school musicals including the lead role in, appropriately enough, “A Star is Born.” As Emmy grew as an artist in her own right, performing other musician's songs no longer satisfied Emmy. She began to pursue her passion by writing her own lyrics and music. Emmy's songs come from real life experiences; each song is a personal exploration of her emotions, her tone drenched with soul. In her songs, Emmy’s writing "voice" comes through as loud and clear as the power and clarity of her singing voice. It’s not a question of if Emmy will someday lead the charts but when.
