-- BIO IRAN DANIEL BIO --
Born in Mexico City and raised in a cosmopolitan family of politicians (her father was twice the Mayor of the city where she grew up), Iran Daniel was a finalist in Mexico’s Beauty Pageant “Nuestra Belleza†(Televisa). She started to do TV commercials before moving to London from where she traveled the 5 continents to practice the 4 languages in which she is completely fluent (Spanish, English, French and Italian).
While in England, a Univision producer spotted her and asked her to guest-host in the U.K. for Control, the top-rated Hispanic Teen show at the time. Iran Daniel then moved to Miami and started a career as a TV Host in the top Hispanic Market shows, including Sabado Gigante, certified by the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s longest running variety show, watched weekly by over 100 million loyal viewers in 42 countries worldwide. Shortly, she was hired by Nickelodeon to be the only human face to speak to the young audience of their Latin American feed on “Correo Nick†(Nick Mail), and hosted 5-minute capsules that were aired every hour, on the hour, twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week, reaching more than 27 million households in 37 countries south of the border.
Juggling between studios and classrooms, (after studying International Relations at the School of Political Science in Mexico's UNAM), she graduated with honors from Miami Dade College as an Art major with a minor in Photography. She then enrolled in Florida’s Acting Studio where she trained in the Stanislavski Technique and explored the Uta Hagen exercises with private coaches before landing a main role in a soap (Me Muero Por Ti) opposite Barbara Mori, Mexico’s Novela leading-lady. Enamored with her very first encounter with the film camera as the lead in El Cabello de Revolver Rojo, this fearless adventurer packed her bags and drove across the country to Hollywood where she knew no one. Her confident dream and will-power were her sole companions for her arrival in LA, where she soon started her “cross-over†both in TV and film, landing the lead in Bulletfighter, where she played an ambitious two-faced FBI agent working with the mob, followed by a turn as a bitchy / exigent Latina mis-treating Anglos in the innovative Day Shift (FOX Searchlight).
She also started to host and produce segments for Telemundo’s extreme sports magazine "Ritmo Deportivo" (Sports Rhythm), reaching 70 million Hispanic viewers, interviewing international athletes on the West Coast and Canada; became the Host of the Travel show "Lo Mejor de California" reaching approximately 2.5 million Spanish-speaking households in California; and guest-hosted its English version "The Best of California" on KNBC, as well as hosting "LA in a Day" a travel and lifestyle show for LA36. We have recently seen her in the pilot episode of Lisa Kudrow’s "The Comeback" for HBO, and as host and producer of her own Film-World segment in “XKPâ€, an Entertainment Tonight for the Hispanic market reaching 8 million homes in Southern California, where she has unveiled the secrets of influential Industry key players such as Adam Sandler, Quentin Tarantino, Chris Rock, rapper Nelly, and many others.
Iran Daniel was hired by Univision Network to cover the FIFA World Cup Germany 2006 as their own Entertainment Host for the Network’s feeds including Univision (with an estimated 70 million viewers per match), plus it’s Domestic U.S. feed on Telefutura, and it’s satellite broadcast across Latin America through Galavision. As the network's tour-guide, she travelled all over Germany, and brought the audience pre-match samples of all the fun, excitement, music festivals, cultural affairs, and all the fiesta that happened outside the soccer field during the world’s biggest and most watched sporting event in history.
Besides her work on TV and film, Iran Daniel has excelled as a Voice-Over Artist as the voice of Michelle Rodriguez’s character Ana-Lucia Cortez in the Golden Globe® and Emmy® award - winning series LOST (ABC Wednesdays - 9 pm PT), which is dubbed in Spanish for the SAP feature. You can also hear Iran Daniel’s voice dubbing Lesli Kay as Felicia Forrester, one of the lead characters on the CBS soap The Bold And The Beautiful, Carolyn Bigsby in Desperate Housewives, Molly in Ugly Betty, and in many national radio and television advertising campaigns (both on and off-camera).
She recently joined the star-team of voices of the "W Radio 690 AM" radio station (www.wradio690.com) as the co-host of its morning talk-show (9am to 11 am Monday through Friday) where she discusses world issues from politics to showbiz, from immigration to the enviornment, and shares beauty tips for its Hispanic audience (besides encouraging "Wonderful Women of the World" to keep growing wiser...). She also has her own sports segment specializing in soccer.
To keep herself busy, this multi-faceted talent has just hatched her own production company “IQ 160 Productionsâ€, committed to creating -intelligent entertainment that inspires awareness- for both TV and film. In less than a year she has written, produced and directed two short films, and has just finished co-writing her first feature which she will also direct.
