Internationally known and multi-talented, Lady Sparkle’s was born into her culture and heritage of Trinidad & Tobago. Sparkle’s currently sings groovy soca/soca groovy. Her genre also includes soul, R&B, Reggae and "whatever floats her boat!"Sparkle’s recently completed her first single entitled, “Ah Gone Hold You Down Tonight” off of her latest project Lady Sparkle’s Coming At You. Production Manager, Matthew Bowens, said, “It’s a catchy tune!” (Master Disk, NYC, 2006). After having worked with her, he added, “She’s a memorable person…she makes her mark wherever she is.” More projects including a DVD video release are coming to the public soon. Release dates TBA.Before Sparkle’s became “Lady Sparkle’s”, she had several nicknames: Killer Clic, Jitter Bug, Trini Gal, Ebony Eyes, Crazo...but there was only one that stood out among the rest. The name Sparkle’s, Lady Sparkle's was the one. In a room, Sparkle’s always has a way of brightening up a room with her style and energetic way of life. When she walks in a room, "boy, may I say no more!"Early on, Sparkle’s talent was noticed by many teachers, dancers, and performers. Some household names include Ms. Fish Burn, Sister Cole, Ms. Brooks, Biz Markie, Red Alert, Full Force, Lauryn Hill, Coolio, Roots Man, Trini Devo, Lady Saw, Sister Charmaine, Beenie Man and Mr. Vegas. More recently, Poser, Gyptian, Maximus Don, Super P and the list goes on and on. Future calabos are in the works.Besides performing a model jazz piece and Caribbean dance at Brooklyn Collage and Merger Evans College, Sparkle’s also performed an off-Broadway tribute at Town Hall to the well-known jazz artist Barry Harris. Additionally, Sparkle’s is a choreographer. She has choreographed many dance pieces and became a dance champion in 1994. She even innovated a dance called the soukie-akie and won an award for it. This dance also opened the door for her to attend and perform with the Alvin Ally Dance Company on scholarship. Up until now, dancers, new and old alike love to battle her in clubs on the dance floor and Sparkle’s is always up for the challenge. In 1997, Sparkle’s hosted a show called Caribbean Explosion where she was viewed by many all over. Not only did she meet and interview, but she also performed alongside many artists from Jamaica like Freddie Megregor, Beres Hammond, and Stone Love just to name a few. Sparkle’s has been in many music videos, performed alongside many artists and has involved herself with many social and cultural events. Sparkle’s even modeled at one point in time.Sparkle’s was also part of 3 bands, Kaotic & the Mad Mad Crew, Head Corner Stone and Island Riddim, while she was focusing on her solo career. Within these bands, she sang zook, reggae, soca, calypso and chaunty. Additionally, Sparkle’s is well-known for “masking” and "whining" in many carnivals from the streets of Brooklyn, NY to islands of Trinidad & Tobago. (Boston, Miami, Toronto, Canada, DC, CT, Springfield, MA)Sparkle’s is also a philanthropist. In the past she has helped organizations with their crack/cocaine, sickle cell, and breast cancer awareness campaigns and more recently has helped youths focus on education and the importance of staying in school.Sparkle’s close friends and family have always said, “There’s no stopping Sparkle’s.” With her recent radio play, and club spinners, there really is no stopping her. Keeping focused on what she really wanted to do, she has overcome many obstacles and continues to electrify crowds with her many talents. So watch out 'cause she's "coming at u!"" / Get Your Own Voice Player Manage
