This originally started as a simple myspace for a group titled How to Save a Life based on the ideals behind The Fray's song How to Save a Life. All we wanted was love. We believed that was all it took to save a life.
Today it is a (soon to be) non-profit organization titled Open Our Eyes that believes our voice can mean something, that our voice can help save a life. Our goal is to educate our community on the following: the severity of suicide among teens, the warning signs which indicate a person is at risk, and the resources available both locally and nationally to reduce that risk. We do not take the place of talking with a medical professional. We hope to serve as a bridge to connect people with the help they need.
Open Our Eyes is a movement. It is a revolution. It is a call. It is our call.

We believe that the lesson is in the struggle not the victory. We are all one, we are all called to love. That's really all it takes.
4 out of 5 teens who attempt suicide give clear warning signs. Maybe it's time for us to open our eyes.
IMPORTANT: Talking with anyone here does not take the place of talking with a medical professional. We are not experienced in any medical field and reccommend contacting locally AltaPointe Health Systems at (251)473-4423 or nationally Yellow Ribbon at 1-800-SUICIDE for help.
"We are a community of struggle. Some of us are rich people trying to escape our lonliness. Some of us are poor folks trying to escape the cold. Some of us are addicted to drugs, and others are addicted to money. We are a broken people who need each other and God, for we have come to recognize the mess that we have created of our world and how deeply we suffer from that mess. Now we are working together to give birth to a new society within the shell of the old. Another world is possible. Another world is necessary. Another world is here." - Shane Claiborne
