CLICK HERE!In order to fully understand who we are and what we are capable of,We have to OPEN our eyes to the possibilities of the mind and soul.In order to know a bit about what it is to follow a Pagan path. A person should know the basic principles.Such as our holidays.So I'm gonna give ya a crash course in the "Basics" of what we do and believe.You don't have to agree with everything we believe..but at least try and understand our views.But if you have a question about something you don't understand,Then drop me a note and I'll try an clarify your misunderstanding according to my own viewpoint.{HOLIDAYS}- Our holidays are called Sabbats. Some of which have been incorperated into the Christian belief system in order to give an impression that they are willing to receive our traditions without prejudice. But history has proven otherwise! But Easter,Christmas and Halloween are all originally Pagan holidays!!On each of our Sabbats I will add new images to this section.BLESSED BE{Esbats}-Aside from our major Sabbats we do have other celebration days.These days are called Esbats.These are the days of the year when the moon is full.And whether you want to believe it or not,we are all effected by the different stages of the cycle of the moon. Womens natural menstral cycle is every 28 days.The same as the cycle of the Moon! Men are more energetic and emotional during the full moon,which is why statisticly crime rates are higher during the full moon. Animals are as well in tune with the cycle of the moon. And you wonder why wolves howl at the full moon-lol.Mother Earths ocean tides are also in tune with the moon. We use these days to recharge our tools and our bodies with the energy that the Moon provides.{The Pentacle}-Now this is a symbol that has been used throughout history by many different religions,"including Christianity!" You'll find it in Amish areas used as a protection symbol on their barns and houses. Satanists use an inverted pentacle to represent their faith.But make no mistake! We Pagans do not worship the devil! If you check your history, you'll find that there was no such thing as the devil or Satan prior to the injection of Christianity to the masses. We Pagans use this symbol during ritual and wear it as an adornment to represent our interconnections to the elements Earth,Air,Fire,Water and Spirit.(THE RULES!!)-Just like the Christians have the Ten Comandments as rules to live by. We Pagans follow some basic rules as well. The Wiccan Reade is a guideline for us Pagans as to how we are to carry ourselves and our actions. But for the student who is just starting out,It has been my experience that the majority of them miss the biggest point of all. In that most of all, We are to do "NO" harm to ourselves!Most people "do" belive in the realities of "KARMA". So even if you don't wish to follow a Pagan lifestyle, You would be wise to follow the the "Laws of Threefold."(TOOLS)- "Oh how we love our tools"-lol. And we do use quite a few.Some of which are quite ornate. However the types of tools we use does tend to vary among the different traditions. In some of the different "circles" or rituals I've attended different tools have been used for the same overall purpose. In one ritual I attended the High Priestess cast the "Circle" with a sword. And a different one I attended the "Circle" was cast with a wand. The point here is to find or make the tool that feels right for you.It should be known that the athame is under no circumstances to be used for any kind of BLOOD letting!!(The BROOM)- This is usually one of the first tools people think of when they envision a witch. And we're always supposed to be flyin' around on 'em too, Right? Well the fact is, The broom has many different uses within the "Craft". Most of the rituals I've attended the High Priestess cleanses the boundries of the "circle" prior to casting it. And even in non-magical workings, The broom is used to clean an area. But I have also seen it used to represent the crossing into a new life during a "handfasting" ceremony..ie..a pagan wedding.
