Influences: My Desert Island, All-Time, Top-Five movies are: High Fidelity, A Hard Day's Night, The Tao of Steve, The Royal Tenenbaums and Dazed and Confused. Other close contenders are Pulp Fiction, Clerks, the first three Star Wars movies (the FIRST three, not the first three, ya get me?), Transformers the Movie (NOT the Transformers movie), Clifford, Entrapment, Donnie Darko, Traffic, 12 Angry Men, Annie Hall, Almost Famous, Elf, Swingers, Anchorman, Waiting for Guffman and the Shining. My favorite extinct TV shows are: The West Wing, Grounded for Life, Get Smart, Friends, Seinfeld, The Wonder Years, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip and Benny Hill. My favorite current TV shows are: Jeopardy, Heroes, 30 Rock, Lost, Good Eats, My Name is Earl, the Office, Real Time with Bill Maher, Best Week Ever, Saturday Night Live, the Simpsons, Family Guy, Entourage, Flight of the Conchords, and I recently got into Mad Men, which is awesome. i don't read as much as I should, but my favorite book of all time is Glimpses by Lewis Shiner. The last great book I read was The Road by Cormac McCarthy. I am currently bouncing back and forth between McCarthy's Blood Meridian and Philip K Dick's Valis and not getting very far in either one of them. Both good, though
Sounds Like: I sound like that guy who's always saying 'doesn't this song and that song sound exactly the same?' But my musical tastes that I do not soundlike include: the Beatles, Phish, Keller Williams, Pas/Cal, RJD2, the Grateful Dead, Joni Mitchell, the Who, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Brian Wilson, Sufjan Stevens, Ween, the Ambitious Brothers, Diplo, Kanye West, Esquivel, Charlie Hunter, Nick Drake, the All-Night Push, Will Oldham, Dangermouse, The Descent of the Holy Ghost Church, The Flaming Lips, EJ Farr, Frank Zappa and Miles Davis

The 90s in a Nutshell

Well, about a year ago, I watched VH-1's 100 greatest songs of the 90's. It's a solid list, only a few minor quibbles. But I started listening to them and realized, like I always do, that most of th...
