I am here for Friends and Networking

About Me

*update* I have an immense amount of respect for each individual who contacts me, and I refuse to give any less than 110% commitment to everyone I speak with. It has nothing to do with obligation, and everything to do with each and every response coming from my heart. I have been able to provide that to everyone I am currently speaking to, and I will continue to do so. However, I can not provide that commitment to anyone new at this time due to my personal time constraints. I would much rather be straightforward than give anyone less than the complete respect and commitment that they deserve.I will still accept any friend requests that I receive and will read all messages. Therefore if anyone needs a safe place to vent, I would absolutely love to be that for you. I just cannot respond to anyone new at this time. If and when that changes I will take this message down.I did not anticipate so many amazing inspirational individuals inviting me into their lives, and I am truly blessed. I am not turning anyone away. I am using my voice to take care of myself the same way that I encourage all of you to. I am committed to "practicing what I preach' because I would not be authentic in what I do here if I wasn't.Thank you all so much for your trust and patience!Namaste, Jackie______________________________________________________ ________ ***About the Purpose of my Page***This page is a forum to support those experiencing eating disorders, in any form, at any stage. I have been involved in online counseling for approximately 5 years. Although I am pursuing a MS and LMFT to specialize in the treatment and prevention of eating disorders, I am not yet licensed. I am affiliated with ANAD as a resource person for the state of Connecticut, and from September 2009 to May 2011 I will be interning as an individual and group therapist at Rimmon Pond eating disorder resource and therapy center in Seymour CT utilizing an integrative holistic model that fosters empowerment as opposed to pathology and dependence. I am passionate about being a resource for those who may be ambivalent about seeking real time help. I also want to support anyone who is entering recovery, newly out of treatment, or in the recovery process. I offer one-on-one safe confidential free online support. I communicate with individuals via messages, and do not utilize the myspace IM. I do not offer medical advice, and will not continue corresponding with any individual who indicates an immediate intent to harm themselves. I do not claim to be a licensed professional, and encourage anyone who thinks that they may have an eating disorder to seek real time help. However, I offer non-judgmental support to empower individuals to help themselves. I do this because it is my passion. As someone who was once diagnosed as "chronic", I can assure you that full recovery is attainable regardless of duration or severity. *Please see my blogs and 'heroes' section for more information on eating disorders*. ____________________________________________________________ __***About Me***I am inspired by the strength and beauty of the human spirit. I believe in the innate goodness of people. I marvel at the wisdom of nature and ponder the questions that have no right answers. I am intensely passionate, and wear my heart on my sleeve. I'd rather be hurt than live without loving. I have an open mind that refuses to be closed. I never give up on the people and pursuits in my life that make it worth living. I value wisdom over knowledge. I love poetry, theater, dance, music, and self expression. I am a transcendental thinker and a free spirit. I am a hopeless romantic. I seek out beauty in all things. I am not perfect. I am goofy and unedited. I love to laugh. I believe that everything happens for a reason. I do not believe in failure. I would rather stand out than give in. I am coming to believe less and less in psychology and increasingly more in empowerment and stripping the labels from the truth of who we really are. I believe that authenticity is the key to happiness. I am a certified Reiki Master and train in holistic healing modalities, metaphysics, and IFS Therapy. My life has taught me that miracles and dreams do not only come true in fairy tales. My friends and my family mean the world to me. My 6 year old has taught me more about love than I could ever teach her. I am grateful for the people and experiences in my life that have strengthened my ability to see past the superficial and value that which is real. I'll never stop learning and asking the hard questions. I'll never turn from the pain that deepens my experience of joy. I embrace all of life as an amazing adventure.__________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________ ________

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

**I'D LIKE TO MEET** Anyone who is currently experiencing an eating disorder and would like a non-judgmental hand to hold from a distance. Anyone who is in recovery from an eating disorder and would like to share hope, healing, and support. Non-judgmental thinkers and passionate souls who want more out of life than the status quo and who thrive on living outside of the box.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us"

-Marianne Williamson

"With all your heart… say out loud, “I want to live a happy life”, listen to what you just said, take notice of things, surround yourself with people you love, listen to the wind, imagine, let everything change all the time, let go of the “why”, welcome miracles, thank the Universe constantly, breathe, tell the truth about how you feel, make choices, want what you want, let animals reach you, let children teach you, take good care of your body, love passionately, share your dreams, spread your gifts, check it out, forgive the past, dive in, eat it up, take chances, be REAL!"

-Julie Evans

"In order not to be influenced by the illusion of chaos outside yourself you must become the truth within yourself"

-Unknown

"If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you are meant to be living is the one you are living. Wherever you are, if you are following your bliss, you are enjoying that life within you"

-Joseph Campbell

“Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them... because they change things. They push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world... are the ones who do"

-Steve Jobs

"At the center of your being you have the answer; you know who you are and you know what you want"

-Lao Tzu

"Beyond the beauty of external forms, there is more here: something that cannot be named; something ineffable; some deep inner spiritual essence. It only reveals itself to you when you are present."

-Eckhart Tolle

“There are two ways of spreading light: be the candle or the mirror that reflects it”

-Edith Wharton

“Passion, it lies in all of us... sleeping... waiting. And even when unwanted... unbidden, it will stir... open its jaws... and howl. It speaks to us... guides us. Passion rules us all, and we obey. What other choice do we have? Passion is the source of our finest moments. The joy of love... and the ecstasy of grief. It hurts sometimes more than we can bear; but without passion we would be hollow empty rooms, shuttered and dark. Without passion we'd be truly dead.”

-Joss Whedon

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step"

-Lao Tzu

"When you realize nothing is lacking, the whole world belongs to you"

-Lao Tzu
