BLACKSMITH

They seek to bring *Music* back to this highly automatic world. Their sound is reforged from the ruins of classic rock and holds their audiences in an iron-clad embrace. Their explosive rhythms inspire young and old alike to get up and rock out while the versatility of their sound keeps everyone eager for more. As incoherent noise breaks society into pieces, BlackSmith replaces mayhem with sanity and makes a person whole again.
BlackSmith started in Los Gatos, CA in late 2003 as a purely instrumental classic rock band. Founding members of the band are: Brendan Martin (Lead Guitar), Ryan Martin (Rhythm Guitar/ Songwriter) and Sean Dorsey (Bass Guitar).
Matt Sharp started drumming for the band when their first drummer left them in late 2004. Around that same time Brendan began his role as vocalist. In July of 2005 BlackSmith recorded a demo CD at Studio Hibiki in Mountain View. The CD is composed of six songs, five of which contain Brendans vocals.
Shortly after the demo was made Matt parted from the band. In late 2005 BlackSmith instated Chris Leedham who just moved into the area from Galt, California. Chris powerful drumming skills have unveiled the true potential of BlackSmith. The band will be recording a new demo in early June at Final Mix Studio in Campbell, CA.
BlackSmith is a powerful Rock and Roll band with all original music. They take pride in the versatility of their music and it shows when their sound gracefully changes from folk to funk and then dives into a dynamic solo. They put forth great effort to keep their songs raw and explosive much like the great rock artists of the late 60s and 70s. Their pure rock sound is strongly guitar driven and has been compared to bands such as Led Zeppelin, CCR, Cream, and Pearl Jam. They are looking forward to spreading their music (worldwide).
