Hold on to the dream...

About Me

NYC based Valerie Gomes has been writing music since the late 80s. She has performed at Jane's Cafe, Baggot Inn, C Note, CBGB's Gallery, Orange Bear, The Triad, Rose's Turn, Kenny's Castaways, Dont Tell Mama, and many other NYC night spots. She has been on WBAI radio and performed her "Tower Song'" at a Sept. 11th fundraiser at the B'hai Center. She sings and arranges backup vocals for many N.Y.C. musicians, and has credits on many artists' CDs.
Her first solo recording, Time Will Tell (2001), is an honest and sincere representation of her music. The gentle guitar and vocals take the listener on an intimate journey through Val's life experiences.
Her follow-up CD, Valerie Gomes Live , features some of her most popular and requested songs, performed with her band, at Rose's Turn in Greenwich Village. These CDs may be purchased from CDbaby.com/vgomes1 and vgomes2 click on the blue links.
Valerie's latest CD, Hold On To The Dream , is her first full production recording. Produced by Brad Craig at Fretman Studios ,"Hold On To The Dream" brings Val's beautiful songs and vocals to a new plateau. From the simple vocal and guitar melodies of the title track, to the electro-samba "Cold Wind", to the full strings and piano on "Life Unkind", this CD promises to please new and old fans alike. "Hold On To The Dream" is available now at Val's website , and here at CD Baby .
