About Me
Let’s talk about Dani B…or should I say…Dani BF! Back in the day I called myself Dani B, along with MANY other people, because I use to “try†to rap. Every time there was a party, people would either try to get me on the mic, or have me compete against another female, one named Camari in particular (SHOUT OUT TO CAMARI)! So, Dani is short for Danielle and the B was for my maiden name and the F is obviously for my married name. ïŠ
My life is exactly how God describes all of our lives, but only few of us understand the true meaning of life. I’ve had many ups, downs, twists, turns, dark days, and light, but God has taught me that He is in control at all times. As long as I continue to Praise Him and keep my Faith in Him, I will remain Blessed.
Until the age of 8, I was living in a rural area of East Orange, New Jersey, until my mother decided it’s time for us to be like the Jeffersons and MOVE ON UP! We moved to Montclair, New Jersey, where I spent most of my life. I was very popular around town because of my bubbly personality and humor, and got along with everyone. My senior year, I was the “Prom Queen†and won the awards for “Best Smile†and “Best Dancer.†Yes, I’ve been dancing since the age of 3 and intend to open my own studio momentarily. During my planning phase, God has Blessed me with a wonderful husband and 2 beautiful children.
After high school I attended Delaware State University where I studied psychology and physical education. While there, I volunteered my talents by providing free dance lessons to all students. I also choreographed for the band dancers, a contestant who won Miss Delaware State, and a colleague who participated in a body building contest and won 1st place. Fashion shows and talent shows were always going on at Delaware State and I was a participant in all and loved every minute of it.
Gifted and talented is an understatement. I don’t say that out of conceit, but confidence. I always considered myself a great dancer because I’ve been doing it for so long, but there are other talents that God has Blessed me with that seem to come naturally. Besides dancing, I can sing, act, model, write poetry, CREATE (flyers, presentations, logos, etc), PLAN (weddings, birthday, special events, etc.), imitate others, very computer literate, accounting and finance background, and probably much more; I’m just waiting for God to show me. I’ve worked with the infamous LL Cool J by posing for his "Around the way girl" album cover, participated in his video “This is how I’m comin’,†and toured with Positive K on his “I gotta man†tour in the early 90’s. Oh, and I also posed on the “Steve D the Destroyer†album cover in 1987…SHOUT OUT TO STEVE AND CLINTON! LOL
Over the years, so much has gone on in my life, but one thing that I am always reminded of is I’m not who I was before. When I began to go to church, listen to the Word of God, and apply it to my life, everything changed. I’ve learned to listen to God and really hear what he’s telling me. You have to stay humble in life. As fast as God has given you something He can taketh away. Those who have lost a loved one, a job, their health, or anything that mattered should know what I’m talking about. In the words of Big Poppa, “Real gangsters walk in silence.†So many people portray this toughness and they’re loud about it too! But when things get rough, they go run and hide under a rock or wait for someone to have their back. Some people yell and brag so much about something that isn’t reality until it’s bites them in the a$&. STAY HUMBLE. A humble person never blows his/her own horn. STAY HUMBLE and touch others. PAY IT FORWARD. ïŠ
He uses me and I love it. I’ve become the healing source of myself and others and I love it. I’ve learned before loving others, you have to love yourself. It’s like driving a car. How can you get to your destination with no fuel? How can you get to someone else without filling yourself first? My heart is so full that I find ways of burning my fuel just to be able to fill up again and burn it some more to get to others. Spreading love and the Word of God on a daily basis is the most fulfilling part of my day.
I have had many dreams, and still do. Am I down because some of those dreams didn’t come to pass? Of course not! You know why those dreams didn’t come to pass? Because God has something in store for me so great, that only he can see it. I’ve learned to be patient and know that everything is on His time, not mine. Once you rely on the flesh instead of the spirit, you are going down the wrong path. I have God, a great family, a job, a roof over my head, wonderful friends, and ongoing dreams waiting to pass…life can only get better!Stay positive and be a vessel to the Higher Power. Start defining love with expression, not relying so much on words. Anyone can say it; it takes realness to show it.Much love to you all and like Coca-Cola, always keepin’ it real!Dani B
