About Me

Newman says: Hi! My name is Newman, I'm a mixed breed, that's the PC word for mutt! My Mommy and Daddy think that I'm a cross between a Bassett Hound and a Cardigan Welsh Corgi. I have the Bassett Hound body style with the Cardigan coat (boy do I ever shed!), head shape and blue eyes. I have really big mitts and Mommy says I have Super Sniffing Powers because I like to trail scents really slowly and deliberately like a Bassett Hound. I'm about 7 years old, Mommy and Daddy rescued me in 2004 after I was turned into the pound heartworm positive. The nice people at the animal shelter took care of my heartworm and had me fixed, then I was put up for adoption. Here's my "PetFinder" page from when I was being fostered. Boy, that was a tough time in my life. I'm so happy to have a forever Mommy and Daddy!
Tucker says: I'm not a mutt like Newman, I'm a purebred AKC registered Pembroke Welsh Corgi! Mommy thinks that's really neat! My AKC name is "JBT's Pick Me Please" but everybody usually calls me "Tucker". I was adopted by Mommy and Daddy when they saw this post on chumps.net . I'm a daddy and a grampa! My son Badger is one of the Rowdy Ruff Boys. My son Beau and my grandpuppy Calvin live with The "Children Of The Corn/Snow" Gang . Calvin needs a forever home! My gradpuppy Cory lives with my human daddy's brother-in-law Mark. He is just as beautiful as I am! I have a little pink spot on my nose, and I'm very nervous and wiggly! Daddy likes to pick me up and sing a silly song while I wiggle around and flail my feet in the air. He's really careful about properly supporting my long back when he does this. He calls me "Mister Wigglyworm"! I'm so glad Mommy and Daddy adopted me, though sometimes Newman always ignorning me gets a little annoying.

My Interests

Pooping, Chewing hooves, Petrodex brand dental chews, water, Doggy Steps so we can get on the bed.

I'd like to meet:

Lots of other dogs at the dog park, and at doggie day care!

Music:

Not Dead Yet is the rock and roll band Daddy is in. We love hanging around when they practice in the basement.

Movies:

Eight Below! That is our favorite movie of all!!!

Television:

Animal Planet! Tucker says: I love the Dog Shows, I always root for the Corgis and Basset Hounds! Newman says: My favorite is Animal Cops, though sometimes it's hard to watch.

Books:

We can't read, but Mommy and Daddy read the book Adopting a Great Dog by Nona Kilgore Bauer before they got Newman, so that's got to be a good one.

Heroes:

Real live working dogs! We both love to herd other dogs and even children, we really admire real working herding dogs. And of course rescue dogs and Police dogs. Newman says: I love the Beagle patrol at the airports sniffing for contraband.
