Greetings, my name is Stephen Schoenecker. I am a freelance recording engineer/producer based in Bristol Tennessee/Virginia, The Birthplace of Country Music. Audio engineering is my passion and sound is an obsession.
NuClone is the curious and somewhat quixotic name of my recording studio - likely the best residential recording studio in all of Northeast Tennessee. Basic features of the studio include a Studio Master Mixdown Classic 8 32 channel console, along with 48 channels of input/output via two MOTO HD192 units and a MOTU 24I/O unit, along with Event ASP8 direct field monitors, and plenty of rack gear, such as effects units, dynamics processors, equalizers, and the like to record most any band in a live style setup or otherwise. DAW is Steinberg Nuendo along with Universal Audio plugins and two UAD DSP cards. Mixing preference is to mix with the console, hybrid and traditional.
I also do a limited amount of live sound work, mainly recording but I also like mixing live under the right conditions, as I am just as much at home behind a live console as in the studio. In fact the live recording of The Fury... Heat! song Beyond The Valley of the Dodge on my music player was mixed and recorded live, no remixing in the studio as it was taken straight off the live console to a two track recorder.

Construction of the new control room is under way and plans for a complete renovation of the studio are in the works - such as new booths, vocal/performance, and isolation cabinets for guitar cabinets and/or combo amps. In addition to a new look, and better acoustic performance of the rooms.
