"Words.....how innocent and powerless they are as they stand separately in a dictionary.....how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them." - Nathaniel Hawthorne
Laurie Lonsdale is a Toronto-based author/journalist/lyricist, who has written for such magazines as 'Fazer','Divorce Mag', 'Playgirl', 'Moxie', 'Toronto Exclusive', 'Scene and Heard', 'Chicken Soup', and even 'The Enquirer'. Among her published credits she counts five women's fiction/thriller novels currently on the market, including 'Chasing Rainbows', 'Neon Nights', 'Hollywood Blues', 'Four of Hearts' (voted among the Top Ten novels of '07 in the Preditors and Editors Readers' Poll), and the recent re-release of 'Wild Side' - a rock 'n' roll romp that was loosely based on her experiences in concert promo in the late 80's/early 90's. The book was voted among the Top Five fiction novels of 2004 in an international publishers' and readers' survey during its original release, and is now accompanied by the rock/powerpop CD "Strong and Wild". The music acts as a soundtrack to the story, and was co-written by Lonsdale and award-winning vocalist Heidi Propp. While Laurie continues to freelance for various music publications, providing concert coverage, interviews, and CD reviews, she has segued into the role of band publicist and PR via her company Poison Pen Productions. Laurie recently was included as one of Toronto's most artistic, creative and inspiring women, by Maraval & L'Oreal in connection with the Luminato Arts Festival.

“Laurie Lonsdale has written the most action-packed “Behind the Music†episode ever!!†Chris Dugan – Editor – Metal Dreams
“Wild Side is a sexy, saucy, rock ‘n’ roll thriller that empowers, enlightens, and – most importantly – entertains.†R. Scott Bolton – Editor – RoughEdge.com
“Wild Side is a tidy little thriller in addition to portraying the best and worst of fame's rewards. Such a life is not all fun and frolic, and the author does a good job of showing both sides. The language and sexual situations are graphic so the book is recommended for mature readers. If you've ever wondered what it's like to be a famous rock band - warts and all - check this one out.†- Laurel Johnson - MidWest Book Reviewer
