About Me
No soundfiles, just attitude...
So since early this year (2008 that is) I'm doing radio... it's a great new internet station, byte.fm, and yes you guessed it, you'll find it at www.byte.fm .
The programm is the hour long Elevator Music, that I cohost with my old pal Anja Lupoupou, playing and talking about a choice of tracks we feel should be heard, from the last 100years out of "(Anti-) Pop- culture". We have a blast, and even if you don't speak German, it's fun to hear great music for an hour. Elevator Music is on every 4 weeks, with some repeats thrown in here and there...
New - better very new and a very old- track online!
I was asked to add this track "Up There In Heaven" to listen to, so here it is. I played and wrote with Nikki Sudden (RIP) in those days of 1985 and 1986, and this is one of the tracks we wrote which found its way onto the original "The Last Bandits In The World" album (with Johnny Fean & Simon Carmody of The Horslips) and later onto the US-Version of Nikki's best of- compilation "The Last Bandit". I was never that happy with the original recording (which even had another part to it), so thanks Nikki for re-recording it.The other old tracks are: "Return to Anger" (by Kill City), some version Dub of "Who killed The Cat", a rock n roll version of "Tomorrow Is A Long Day" (originally an electronic instrumental), and it's Christof Jessen singing on "At my Window", the Townes Van Zandt song done by Das Weeth Experience back then.
I will change one or the other track from time to time to make it more fun to listen to, and obviously will add some more recent songs as well. I will leave out all the electronic stuff, though. Lies, all lies: I also added Bagio with a track from their astonishing remix album. It's called "Auf Raum", this mix being our "Toxicgirl GothicDub". Also featured on this mix is my good old friend Ari Up, who I've been working with for the last 5 or so years.Blablaba

Still, to get an idea, I've been playing for over 25 years (actually it's almost 30), and I was soooo young), in too numerous bands and incarnations to mention. Some were simply great, others even had a certain amount of success (whatever that means, to you), others were plain creations out of megalomania. I'm not as good a musician as I should be by now. Well, obviously, I put importance on other things. I published a PunkRock fanzine in the early days, self published a novel and a couple of poetry collections. Got lost in electronic music for a decade, but having turned my "tracks" more and more back into songs, having even played rock n roll versions of one or the other track... it's all the same, no musical borders, genres or anything of that stoopidity. That's for industry type people to sell their stoopid music (soul without soul?).
Been living here and there, anywhere that meant something to me at some point of my life. Arrived home quite some time ago, still can't let go of that itch to create, write, perform.
So, here I am in the year 2007, playing with a loose bunch of comrades, here & there.
Plans are... yes, they are. Whenever, whatever, with whoever. Ageing quitely has some grand advantages.
Now, there you go.
I love you too. And Peace! And help to keep this planet alive!
