About Me

"...Sylvi has a haunting, heavenly voice that quickly finds the resonant frequency of your heart and shakes it to pieces..." Sam Hurwitt
A HUNDRED BIRDS, 2007

Review excerpts:
"This album is a glittering jewel in a coalmine, waiting to be discovered by a fortunate traveler." Anna Maria Stjärnell (www.collectedsounds.com)
"Somewhere between gothic folk and ambient music, 'A Hundred Birds' is a dark, mellow journey in myth and madness. The instrumentation mixes electronics and acoustics into hypnotic, gentle and slightly disturbing soundscapes. Alli's voice vacillates between soaring highs and exploring the lower range of her voice....Her songs are filled with visionary images that linger in the mind.....For lovers of 'heavenly voices' and folk noir." ethereal-lad
"Enough to make Joy Division sound like a pop band." N. Selternick, East Bay Express
"......she writes intriguing songs which captivate you from the beginning to the end. As a result, this record has got absolutely not one dull moment and songs like ‘Arrival‘, ‘Embers’ and ‘Sovereign‘ will grow on you each moment you listen to them again. For people who love quiet pop with sometimes light folk influences 'A Hundred Birds' is an album you must have." www.gothtronic.com
Review excerpts:
TOO NEAR THE GHOSTS "...Alli's songs are strung together like a necklace of rare black melancholic pearls, each as much a celebration of the soul's dark night as they are laments. They are not sad songs, but rather deep songs. Her muse guides us through the internal landscape of exquisite reflection, and we are left with a greater appreciation for the inner life, no matter where we are." Alexander Finn
DREAM OF THE BLUE MOTH
"Sylvi sings in a musical language all her own. The results are slyly trance-inducing, not in the way of stupor but more like serious enchantment. Blue Moth is the soundtrack for dreams you know you have had but could not remember upon waking the next morning. This is music for the soul awakening from deep dreams. These are songs of reckoning."
