Research, analysis, experiment, creation without border and freedom...
...these are some of the words that describe best my approach to music. A site like My Space is the perfect platform to exchange and at least show the world some of my work. The sort of music I create is far from being made in forcasting a lucrative payback. Money isn't in fact part of the equation. I invest time and effort in the art itself which is in my case not of any high commercial value. It is also disconnected with any organized groups or musical scenes (jazz, contemporary, jazz, pop, etc.). I also don't rely on any form of grant or sponsorship. I am truly independent... and that's pure freedom. It is still important for me to share the result of my creative work. I guess that even the more independant and out of mainstream artists still need some sort of exposure to make their work known and consequently alive. What would be the purpose of an unknown piece of art? I think that when a creator has decided that a piece of art is worthwhile... it's time to share. I believe that all creative works or performances have to be made aware of. Certain artforms seem to be made for mass market, and other types of art are made for some elites. I find this pigeon hole principle very annoying and irrelevant. It is one thing to create, and another to make a creation part of the world. Fortunately, the internet comes to the rescue to creators like myself... Let art be!!
Over the last 8 years, I have been busy with the band Spaced Out in which I am still very involved to this day. Being the instigator, leader and main composer of the music produced by that band, there are in many respects similiarties between Spaced Out's music to the one I create under my name. Although, the main difference being that Spaced Out's music has been designed to be performed in a live context by the same group of individuals. The music I create outside Spaced Out is not limited to any prefixed orchestration. My activities as an independant artist are also gradualy extending to the visual side with some film works. You can see an example of that sort of work in the video entitled "Dodecatonic" available on this page.
More work to come soon...
