Simone uses her poetic words to not only uplift the spirit, but to inspire people to change themselves and communities for the better. She has been influenced by writers Nikki Giovanni and Ntozake Shange to pick up the pen at the early age of 14, and writing has been a liberating outlet for her ever since.
Simone specializes in creative and compelling copywriting & editing. As an Indo-Caribbean writer, activist and youth worker, she strongly believes in the power of art to raise awareness on critical social justice issues.
Her work and leadership roles with various non-profit organizations—such as Blackout Arts Collective and Indo-Caribbean Youth Center Initiative—depict her deep passion for community empowerment.
Simone has blessed the stages of many lounges, universities, and local community events in New York City from places like the Sugar Shack, Karma Lounge, Queens Museum of Art, Hunter College, Baruch College, Columbia University, and Cornell University.
She is a strong believer in karma and spirituality...lives her life putting out positive engery, surrounds herself with people who believe in living their life the same way.
