About Me
At the age of ten, Xplicit always hung around her brother and his friends while they recorded their music on the computer. A lot of people called her a tom-boy because she mainly hung out with boys her whole life. One day, her brother said to her "[Xp], do you think you could write a verse to this song?" She was so excited. She had waited for that moment almost half of her life and it was finally there. She was so nervous because she thought that she would mess up in front of her brother and his friends, but suprisingly, it only took her about twenty minutes to complete her first verse ever. When she finished, they were all eager to here, but Xp was so nervous she couldn't get it out. After about ten minutes of pure pressure, she finally did it. Everyone was amased over how good she was on her first try. Her brother immediately put her in his group with him and the rest of his friends.
Xplicit began working with Phantom X as "Bonnie and Clyde". Xplicit began spending a lot of time with her brother and his friends, and not spending a lot of time with her old friends any more. She lost a lot of friends to this event, but not Leroux. Leroux was very much in the picture. He did not record or make beats, but he was always available when Xp was free. Xplicit began rapping at school, at the lunch tables with her friends and her competition. Everyone at school found out she could rap and she felt like the world just crowded around her at that very moment. Everyone wanted to be her friend because she was very well known and she had a small entorage. She was overwhelmed by the people and began to distance herself from a lot of them, except her closest friends which there only happened to be about three at the time. A lot of the older people she had talked to before had graduated and because she had distanced herself about a year before, she was now like everybody else; having to pretty much start her life over again.
When Xp turned twelve, her best friend, Leroux, had moved and was no where to be found, so she thought. And at thirteen, her brother had graduated from high school and was going away to Howard. She had gone through a whole year and a half of pain without her best friend and her role model. She had graduated from the school she attended for nine years, and she felt like she had gotten nothing out of it. Xp sat at her dad's house in Flossmoor, Illinois every weekend during the summer and sometimes all week with nothing to do. She called one of her old grade school buddies, Raya, because she had missed her and hadn't talked to her since graduation. Her friend told her that Leroux had moved to Flossmoor about two years ago and that she had the number to his new house. Xp was extatic when she got his number, she called him and told him that she also lived in Flossmoor and that they should meet up. They had met up at a park within five minutes and realized that the park was both of their backyards. After this very day, they were once again inseperable. Xp continued her brothers journey after he left and Leroux was interested. She taught him how to do all that she new and within weeks they were teaching each other how to do things.
Xp and Leroux, officially together named I.B.M., bought a name for a record label and was dying to use it. They called it Chi-Lock Records. At 15, they had their own label and all the equipment to record and distribute. They worked hard and slowly they were reaching the top. With the help of her brother (now CEO of OT Entertainment), Xp and Leroux made good judgments and decisions and it made things run a whole lot smoother.
Unfortunately, it did not end well between them. X tried to hold the relationship, and business together, but it just could not work; fore they were too passionate in their own ways. X did not let that stop her mission for long though; there were short tears, but she quickly picked up the pace and created her own, not just record label, but whole Entertainment Company (soon to be Corporation), Galactica Entertainment Recording Arts and Studios, and the under contract recording label Espionage Records (also Owned by Xplicit). The title for this company is acceptionally appropriate for what X is trying to bring to the world. At 18, she is striving harder than ever to accomplish so much in school and on the mic, going to college, full-time, for her bachelors in Business/Marketing, and proliferating hunger for fighting colors of war. Hoping to retire and pursue her activist role in the world, X is trying EXTRA hard this time to make sure that she gets the ears that she deserves.
