I am a self employed luthier living in Tinonee, NSW, Australia. I have been building stringed intruments for about 25 years. I was for a time a professional musician, playing guitar and performing as a lead singer in a five piece rock band. I now own and run a busy guitar repair/building business, repairing between 1000 and 1500 instruments a year. I specialise in the building of acoustic guitars and instruments of the guitar family. (Bazoukis, mandolins, ukes etc.) I use, by choice, mostly Australian tonewoods. Favourites being Tasmanian Blackwood (similar to Hawian Koa) Queensland Maple, King William pine, Jarrah and desert timbers such as Hairy Oak and Mulga. I also incorporate imported timbers within the building process to accomodate customers needs and frequently use timbers such as Sitka and Engleman spruce, Rock Maple and Mahogany. If you have an idea for an instrument, I can build it for you.
There are many Australian and overseas musicians now playing my guitars, mandolins and bazoukis. I can build matching sets from the same timbers. "Imagine, a guitar and mandolin combination from the same timbers, same finish and style."
If repairs are what you need, I repair all stringed intruments. My workshop is equiped with the latest tools and computer based diagnostics to deal with the most difficult of problems. All work guaranteed to your satisfaction.
I am always looking forward to meeting new people. I must say, musicians are the nicest people. I am yet to meet one that I didn't like. Check out my website for more info, grahambirdguitars.com plain layout @ HOT FreeLayouts.com
