Just arrived in London - it's cold and rainy but I'm having a wonderful time. Off to Geneva in the weekend so I'll post some picks.
below are some picks of Vietnam - had a blast
Vietnam was fantastic travelled from Saigon to Hanoi then up to Sapa. Sapa's a fabulous little hill station from which you can go trekking and visit the hill tribes - small groups of minority peoples who are not Vietnamese. Really was a highlight - amazing scenery and lovely people so full of smiles and fun. I met some great H'mong girls who took me out playing pool and drinking (all in traditional dress + the odd tee shirt if it was cold). My last night in Sapa they took me out for rice wine with the locals and I discovers 3 important things
1 - intestines are chewy
2 - chicken heads are crunchy
3 - when drinking rice wine it's prudent to slip every 2nd shot under the table - the H'mong women may be under 4 foot 8 but they can out drink you.
