Kim Kurlissa - well, what can I say about me that sounds like of those fancy musician bios :-)?
I am an aspiring female producer, with what some have called a "schizophrenic" taste in music. One day, you may hear me laying down a 22 track experimental piece, next a simple piano driven number with classical nuances, and the day after that a hip hop beat. It all depends on what's going on in my life at the time, my mood, and the message I want to convey through my music.
I am originally from the Washington DC tri state area (now residing in Chicago) and hail from a family who absolutely LOVES music and constantly surrounded me with it. Whether it was my mother and aunts singing doo wop, or my brother and sister banging on their drums sets, strumming guitars, etc - you can bet that there was not a day that went by that my ears were not filled with melodies. Having said, it didn't take long for me to start picking up instruments myself and mimicking what I heard...first the piano, then the drums, the clarinet, the bass..and the list goes on :-)
My love and pursuit for music continued to develop throughout the years leading me to become a trained singer, pianist and a participant in several bands, and vocal ensembles.
While I do enjoy singing and performing, true bliss for lies in music composition, production, and studio work --and boy to I love it.
