About Me

MyGen Profile Generator MyGen Profile GeneratorDavid Sjorup - Media
David's in charge of the media side, taking to the net and speaking to press whilst also hunting for bands, promoters and venues. Also once he has gained photoshop and some skills will be taking to designing posters. David's musical taste differs from time to time but has always been interested in Metal, whether it's thrash or death he's into it, but also he has a softer side listening to bands such as Keane or electronica like Kate Havnevik.
Brett Norton - Management
As Brett has far better people skills than the others in the team the side of management fell upon him, being the most organised of the group it was thought best he kept that role. Brett is in constant attempts at thinking up new ideas for the group, where to go next with what venue and what bands to use. Brett has a liking for any type of music, whether it's 1979 eurovision song contest cheese gods Black Lace, or masters of metal Pink floyd to Current day indie band Muse he will like it, also he has this outstanding ability to remember lyrics from pretty much every song in the history of music.
Darren Garnett - Finance
Ever since Darren purchased Microsoft Office he has taken a liking to Excell (I guess someone has to enjoy using it), now he enjoys calculating budgets, profits, losses and costs, well were not going to stop him. Recently attaining a laptop this man became a suit, from having no style or veneer he went onto suddeny shaving his beard off and getting a haircut, now he somehow looks professional, something we didn't quite expect, I only hope his class comes to match his style. Darren enjoys, like Brett, any type of music, ranging from 80's trouser teaser David Bowie to modern day drum n bass act Pendulum.
About DBD Promotions The 3 of us attend Kendal College doing an EPTECH Course (Technical Production). We have spent the previous year doing lighting and sound for gigs and theatre productions. Dissappointed with the lack of Experience they were receiving Darren and Brett were sat in the pub when Darren jokingly said "we could just put our own gigs on" Brett replied with "Really?" The dream was born. Later the name came from the addition of Dave. David over heard Darren and Brett talking about booking bands for gigs, being quite interested in promoting for a while, decided to wangle himself in.
DBD Promotions is a multi musical interested party, we're not focusing on any certain genre of music and would like to put on many gigs and events around the south lakes and north lancs area. Starting off small were hoping to achieve something great, working ourselves up quite quickly, hopefully achievable with the help of local promoters and bands.
*DBD Promotions is currently working on local gigs around the kendal area with bands from the Cumbria/North Lancs divison.*
