About Me
Hi! My name is Andrea and I have appallingly bad taste in men.
It’s been said that everyone has a book inside her waiting to be written. I certainly did, and I finally did something about it. I’m pleased and quite proud to share with you my first book, Another Disastrous Date.
My goal in writing the book was to communicate with fellow singles that they’re not alone in the journey toward finding that special someone. For a long time I was positive I was the only one out there implanted with a “Disastrous Date†magnet. It was only after I began recounting my dates to my computer – and to any friend willing to lend an ear – that I discovered I wasn’t alone. Turns out there are a lot of men and women outfitted with the same chip.
While writing this book, I learned a few interesting things about myself. Over the years, I spent a great deal of time primping and preening for dates, dropped an enormous amount of money on shoes, and didn’t realize until very late in the game that I was the poster child for what can only be termed as Bad Choices Syndrome. So what saved me from going over the deep end? Writing. It’s definitely the poor woman’s version of great psychiatric therapy.
What I created (or perhaps more correctly, recounted) in Another Disastrous Date is a light-hearted, funny peek inside my forays into the dating scene. The process of writing was far more therapeutic than any of my sessions “on the couch,†and the book has proven equally therapeutic for my friends and others who’ve read it. Quite simply, it’s an easy read that provides welcome laughter to anyone who’s been – or is going through – “Dating Hell.â€
I always say, “If you’re not laughing, you’re not living.†So get ready to live a little and laugh a lot. Enjoy the book!
Still dating, ever hopeful, and proud first time author,
Andrea

THE REVIEWS ARE IN!
I just finished the book and incredible doesn't even describe it! I have always said men are stupid and I think you have proved this. Thank god you still like firefighters! Women always say the good ones are taken and I never thought this was true. But after reading this book I'm starting to believe it. Hell of a job writing the book - it was great. I'm not a big book reader, but DAMN it was really good. Ten stars and two thumbs up. Can't wait for the next one to come out! Darren Boyd - Muncie, IN
This book had me laughing from cover to cover. The humorous way the author recounts her dates will leave you in stitches. After the first date you'll be hooked and after you finish you'll be screaming MORE! I need a new pair of shoes. Jane Ledene - Schiller Park, IL
I couldn't put it down! Not that I wish you experience anymore of these disastrous dates but I really enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading more for you. Tonya Roberts - South Salem, OH
Before reading this book, I felt most women who spoke of Disastrous Dates generally had a hand in helping them get to that point. But now it's clear that, we as men are flawed. Who knew? I applaud the author's ability to relay the pain of failed dates in a humorous way, and her strength to continue on in search of Mr. Right. I thoroughly enjoyed this recount of her experiences and am happy to know that I haven't committed these same dating missteps in the past. Excellent job! Terrace Hale - Chicago, IL
I sincerely couldn’t put it down until I had to. You made me laugh with every story. It’s hilarious! You may be a magnet for attracting disasters but you turned disaster into laughter. Tina from Tina’s Closet - Lisle, Illinois

WOW! I read “Another Disastrous Date†last night and I’m sure am glad I married 36 years ago. This move on my part appears to have spared me the horrors of the dating scene, although my shoe collection has definitely suffered. Moral or subtitle for this little gem could be “heels come in all shapes and sizes.†Marilyn Bullock – Skokie, Illinois
I just finished your book and it is absolutely delightful and HILARIOUS! I can’t wait to read your next one. Latrice Thomas – Chicago, Illinois

Could this book be any funnier? I was reading it out loud at a candle party I was hosting and we were all laughing until we were crying. What a book! You definitely have a flair for comedic writing. I can’t wait for the next installment. Mary Hernandez – Evanston, Illinois
I initially bought a copy of the book for my friend. One day my sister and I started thumbing through the book and reading each other the stories out loud. I had to buy my friend another copy because the cover and pages of the first book were all beat up from our passing it back and forth. I actually bought one for every woman on my Christmas list. Fantastic fun reading, unbelievable stories! Helen Murphy – North Riverside, Illinois

My sister and I read this book together on a flight, we couldn't put it down, could barely stop to take breaks to adjust our necks from the shared holding. We were rolling and had to stop trying to stifle the giggles, we just couldn't! What a great, hilarious read. I can't wait to read more by Andrea! Tiffany Langer – Chicago, Illinois
