Amend [uh-mend); to alter, modify, rephrase, or add to or subtract from formal procedure.
-In short, to change.-
Yesterday [yes-ter-dey]; on the day preceding this day.
-Basically, the day before today.-
One should notice the play on words. You can't change the passed, henceforth, one cannot change yesterday. So think about it and remember that name. Amending Yesterday.
Amending Yesterday (A.Y.) was formed in the August of 2005, with 4 members. Joe Calvert (Lead Vox/Guitar), Jared Shufflebarger (Lead Guitar/ Back-up vox), Ethan Cornell (Drums), and Brett Myers (Bass). After being together for 3 months as a cover band, plus 1 original song, the band wnet downhill because of personal and legal matters. Thus was the end of A.Y. For then.
Almost a year later, by pure chance, 2 original members, Joe Calvert and Brett Myers, met up at a local bowling alley observing a Battle of the Bands competition. After catching up on lost time, due to the nature of a personal conflict, they began discussing the idea of reuniting Amending Yesterday. After a quick phone call to Ethan, he was soon there discussing the reincarnation with Joe and Brett. It was dicussed that the very next day, they'd get together for a "jam day" with a new guitarist, Andrew Harris. After merely 4 hours of this "jam day" it soon became clear that the whole ordeal was going to work VERY well.
But it didn't work as well as everyone had hoped, and they line-up has gone threw a few changes, all in bass players. Brett was dropped from the line-up, and was replaced by none-other than Jared Shuff, who was only in the band for a brief stay before quitting to join the Army National Guard. When all hope for a full time, dedicated bassist was lost, Joe recieved a call from an old friend, Jon Hamilton, who was coincidentally enough looking for a full-time bass gig! Then, things really took off...
Now today, Amending Yesterday stands as a locally popular up-and-coming band, looking to make it in the music industry and inspire legions of teenage fans with their Punk-pop/ Emo sound, with lyrics applying to challenges and situations all teens go through, with a few laughs along the way. Please support A.Y. by reposting any of these videos or banners on your myspace, or just by telling your friends to add us. It'd be a big help, so thanks in advance from all your boys in Amending Yesterday.
