As a musician, photographer and designer I use all my senses and thats where my inspiration cames from. Sometimes it is an image, a specific sound or just a chat with friends.
Lessons learned so far: Just do what you want! Do not try to sound like someone else! If YOU think it is right, IT IS right!
Well, we all have influences of course. Me neither as I am not living in a cave ;) Some of my all-time-favourites are APHEX TWIN,Skinny Puppy and NIN. As a listener and as an artist I have to admit: THOSE GUYS ARE FUCKING HARD TO BEAT! ... at least I try, somehow, maybe, in a way, you know..., that kind of... ehrm....
