Greeting to all those who have stumbled upon my humble little profile.
My name is David (Dave will suffice) and I currently inhabit the burgh of Ayr on the Western coast of Scotland. I am currently a student of Sociology, Philosophy and Politics, with modules this semester in the Sociology and Anthropology of the Body, Disease, Medicine and Society, Applied Ethics and Meta-Ethics and the Politics and Policy of Scotland.
On matters of personal belief, I would describe myself, atheistic... but I also subscribe to a philosophically Existentialist world view... I have varies theories on the nature of the collective concerning entities created by a collectives belief, but that is talk for another situation. My existential views deduce that life has no over arching meaning other than to try and define such... to construct an existence for ourselves.
On matter of personal morality, I am an egoist, and regard altruism as an illusion as I think everything is motived by individual desire...
Politically, I would describe myself as libertarian... perhaps even an atlas-objectivist... believing governments should provide minimum services, and have absolutely no say on personal morality or action, heralding the individual above all mindless uniform collectives... although from time to time, this view varies in extremity.
In my spare time, I like to socialise and to self-intoxicated with my friends, both old, and undiscovered. I also do a lot of writing, currently writing my first novel, as well as some philosophical writings I have been working on for quite sometime. I am also a passionate fan of music, which you will find out if my introduction has wet your appetite you will discover...
Thank you for reading....
