About Me

Okay, this is sort of the appendix to "my own best friend"– the Cool-Tone page. No, I think it's the gallbladder... It's a place for me to feed my MASSIVE EGO by posting my gig calendar and putting up more archival pix and other songs I've played on, produced, and/or engineered, with some of my favorite artists. I'll probably change these pretty frequently, but for now they're:
------------------------------------------------
"Mystery Train" with GRACE POTTER and the NOCTURNALS. Man, I love these guys. Grace and the band were kind enough to ask me to sit in at the Paradise in Boston, October 2006, and we played this chestnut.
............................................................ .............
"It's My Turn Now" with TONI LYNN WASHINGTON, from her 1997 Tone-Cool CD of the same name. A great classy singer with her Boston band, recorded in my little basement studio.
............................................................ ............
"I'm A King Bee" from LUTHER GUITAR JR. JOHNSON -Luther's the real deal – I had a great time working with producer Ron Levy in my studio to do a couple of his records, and played harp on a few tracks.
............................................................ ...........
and "Shake Em On Down" from one of my pal PAUL RISHELL's early 90s CDs, also a basement gem. I was happy to play on this one, as Paul was just beginning to team up with his current partner (and new wife!) Annie Raines, who is one SMOKIN' harp player! Be sure to check out the "Paul Rishell and Annie Raines" page for more.

My Interests

Music:

Band Members: Richard (sometimes AKA Rosy) Rosenblatt on harmonica, sometimes producing and/or engineering and/or buying lunch. LOTS of other great players and singers. I do count my blessings.

"Off The Wall" — T. Blade & the Esquires — Brookline, MA 1988

Influences: Too many to name, on lots of instruments.. but the main harmonica influences are probably Little Walter, Sonny Boy Williamson (II), and Paul Butterfield. As for Producers, I don't think you can beat Jim Dickinson, who creates the ideal space for the artists to find their best work... and knows that misery sticks to tape.
Record Label: ERSTWHILE AND OCCASIONAL
Type of Label: Indie
