I am here for Friends

About Me

I'm a fairly quiet person, I have a good sense of humor, love my family & friends, and I enjoy a large variety of different things as you can tell from my lists (and my page!!).  I especially love NASCAR, and even though it's obvious that my favorite driver is Jeff Gordon, I don't dislike any other driver out there.  My other big obsession is anything having to do with the paranormal (I am currently on a WICKED Ghost Hunters kick!)....so don't be surprised to see ghosts and other such images on this page all year long, not just only during Halloween! :-)

As for the basics, I am 5 ft. 1 in. tall, and have below-the-shoulder-blade length reddish-brown hair (it was waist-length, but I cut it & donated it to Locks of Love on 7-20-06).  About 9 years ago I lost 120 pounds, which will come as a shock to those who have known the "overweight me" for years!!  I have a great support system with my close family and friends and am so blessed to have them in my life.  I also love my three cats; in early 2007 I lost two of the three original members: my 14 1/2 year-old Balinese, Mr. Friendly, and 14 year-old Tony.   But since then, Shadow and Dusty found a permanent home here when I picked them up on June 18, 2007! :-D  And yes, I still have the solitary "Zoo Crew" member: 19 year-old Clarice (Reesie for short). **UPDATE** Exactly two weeks from what would have been Dusty & Shadow's 2nd adoption anniversary, I lost Dusty to the fatal feline infectious peritonitis (FIP) disease....and I unexpectedly gained a cat named Skippy on that infamous June 18th date! :-)

I have lived in Maine my whole life and really enjoy it...otherwise I guess I wouldn't have stayed here this long, lol! :-)  I was fortunate enough to graduate from college in 2003 with an English degree, and for the past 5 years I have worked at the same college from which I graduated.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Anyone who would like to be friends ONLY and who shares any of the same interests. And if you don't like Jeff Gordon and/or Hendrick Motorsports, don't let that stop you from submitting a friend request (just please no bashing is all I ask; I can take friendly teasing, but no hard-core maliciousness). As stated above, I really do have more interests than just NASCAR and the supernatural, which is one of the reasons I have put so much effort in creating this extremely visual page.

NASCAR - The Survey
Do you watch NASCAR?? YES!!
What is your favorite Division? Nextel Cup
Who is your favorite driver? Jeff Gordon :-D
Do you have a second favorite? Jimmie Johnson :-D
Who has the best team work in your opinion? Hendrick Motorsports
Best looking car? Jeff's flame scheme
Short tracks or restrictor plates? Short tracks
Favorite track? I have 3: Charlotte, Loudon, & Bristol
Why? I like the layout of Charlotte; it was also the site of Jeff's first win. Loudon because it's my "home track," and Bristol because of the crash & bang action...especially the night race there in August!
Day or Night races? Night
Car manufacturer? Chevy
Who would you love to see get run off the track at every race? Kurt Bush back when he was a mega jerk...now that he's calmed down, I'd have to lean towards Tony Stewart, lol! ;-)
Do you think that Nascar has a good tire set up? Yeah, when they don't start blowing out and eliminating good contenders!
Would you give your left nut to drive around your favorite track in an actual race? Hoo-yeah!
Do you have any signed memorabilia? Yes, I have collected several signatures from many drivers.
Have you been to a race? Yes
If so where? Loudon and Pocono
New points system or old? I like both for different reasons...but at least with the new, if you're in the top twelve you won't fall out of it!
Do you have trackpass? Yes
If so, then who do you listen to? I'd listen to the "Hendrick Boys" if I used it.
Who's the best legend? Richard Petty and Dale Earnhardt
How many pieces of memorabilia do you own? I don't even dare to count...probably around 100 or maybe a little more.
Do you just collect from your favorite driver? Primarily
Do you like your drivers teammates? Yes, and I am sooo happy that Dale Earnhardt Jr. has joined the gang in 2008!!
Do you like the owner? Big-time yes!! :-)
If someone had to replace your driver for a race, who would? I wish I could bring Dale Earnhardt back for that task...
Have you been to Race City, USA? No
If you worked for NASCAR, what would you do? For some reason, I'd love to be the flag-person! Or I'd like to be a race commentator on TV.
Is NASCAR your obsession??? Yes!! I almost don't know what to do with myself during the off-season, lol! :-)
