Anthony D'Amico

About Me

BIO
Growing up in Toronto, Canada, Anthony had always known that music would play a major role in his life. From an early age, he discovered that it was his passion and that his only option was to pursue a career within it. When he was offered an internship by legendary Toronto DJs, Peter and Tyrone at 83 West & Camouflauge Recordings, he got his first real look into the world of DJing/Producing and thus set the foundation for his future.
From his internship, he moved onto a position at one of the top record stores in Toronto, Traxx Records. This was the turning point in his career. Through his various contacts from Traxx, he went on to DJ at various parties, establishing a name for himself. This passion for music and DJing has now spawned into over 10 years of experience as a DJ. Anthony not only loves the music but the affect that it can have on its audience. He says, "I love the powerful effect music can have on people and how it can bring about a positive vibe. As a DJ I love the fact that I can bring a crowd to life with my music."
Anthony has never been one to limit or isolate himself with only one genre of music. This is evident in his eclectic influences that vary from DJ greats; Mauro Picotto, Adam Beyer, UMEK, Richie Hawtin and Danny Tenaglia... to trendsetting bands like Depeche Mode and Radiohead. His style of music can be classified as fusion of "all things tech", but mainly quality electronic music. Even though he doesn't limit himself to one sound, he always puts his individual stamp on his sets. He has created a distinct style which differentiates himself from the rest, making him original, which to him is most important.
Recently he has been seen in the studio working on producing his own original material. Along with collaborating with other artists and making solo records, Anthony is set to make producing his main focus of 2009. As quoted recently, he says "its almost inevitable that after spinning records for all these years, that I naturally wanted to start creating music of my own".
