About Me

Hello, I'm Jorn, a guitarplayer from Rotterdam. At the moment I'm busy with four bands (jazz&pop) and I'm doing a few side-projects along the road.
My latest band is "Boomroter Offensive" with Bas Kloosterman on Bassguitar en Mark van Kersbergen on Drums. It's a groove-oriëntated jazz/fusion band, with a very fresh and modern sound. Although the music is full of twists which makes it exciting and moving, it will always be in a way that it makes you feel like dancing or just catches your attention with it's lyrical melodies. I hope to be able to post our demo here soon. For now you can listen to "inspect her gadget" which is a recording from a rehearsal. I think you will recognize it's a tribute to a famous inspector and his theme song!
Then there is M.I.S.H. This band, founded by frontman Misha Schreiner, plays eclectic pop/rock music with colours from New Wave (Talk Talk, Depeche Mode), progressive rock (Split Entz, Pink Floyd, Supertramp) with an alternative edge (Radiohead). The songs are lyrical with a nice raw edge. Check two songs of us here; they're called "How it Feels" & "Falling in Love"
The third band I'm playing with is Myriam Gaasbeek. She's a great vocalist and jazzy singer-songwriter.
In 2006 Myriam Gaasbeek was surprised by a phone call from an A&R manager who suggested her to use her composition ‘The gods must be crazy’ as the title track of the Dutch movie ’Ik omhels je met duizend armen’, the screen-version of the novel by Ronald Giphart. The single was released by the record company Universal and produced by Llewy Is Sell, frontman of the Dutch band Relax.
At the moment Myriam is writing her own music with a number of composers. She has been performing accompanied by her own band. The band combines a jazzy sound with pop and blues; also, Latin influences can be heard. The warm voice of Myriam literally and figuratively sets the tone.
For more information visit her website www.myriamgaasbeek.com
Then there is a brand new project: SOULTRAIN. This great 60' soul tribute band, consisting of 8 people, is the perfect band to make everyone dance all night...in a classy way! There's a sharply dressed, groovin rhythm section combined with a beautiful -all female- hornsection which can sing and dance as well! Myriam, the singer of the band, will guide you through the night with her pure and 100% soulvoice. If you want to be taken back to the times that they had big, swinging and sharply-dressed bands that makes you dance and laugh all night, you have to check Soultrain! Soon we'll have our own website. Till then you can listen to one track of us here, which is called "Uptight" (you'll know it when you hear it).
