"The Sputnix come to life back in 1997 on a dark winter night when Nash (vox, guitar), Bud (bass) and Rizla (drums) decided to start their way into music. After months of practice trying to improve the technique, the guys were ready to hit the scenes with a couple of live shows, making a quite good impression on the public, being only 16 year-olds! The revolution begin when Nic (vocals) was introduced to the band: his crisp vocals gave more ..sound.. to what seemed to be the ideal setup for the band to grow on. In 2001 Bud called himself out of the project. The band though had no intention to stop playing music. The addition of Miky (bass) and Arj (guitar) though didn't help as much as needed. The band changed name to "Catch Mad Stories" but after a couple of pretty bad live gigs "The Sputnix" and Bud decided to come back together. In 2003, Spuddy (Keys) was added to the band bringing a lot more melody (and weight) to their songs. Not much later, Nic decided to abandon for good the project reporting a loss in motivation. That was sad, but gave the band a true kick in the ass! Miky was called in to fill what was missing playing a second guitar and since then "The Sputnix" never changed. After almost a year of preparation and rehearsal, the boys were ready to show what they had become. In Fall 2004, they made their first appearance in their hometown bringing more energy than ever to the music and to their audience. Six months later they entered the studio to record their first 6-song EP called "Shotgun". The guys then started playing in the best clubs in Milan and easily made their way to the regional finals of "Emergenza Rock Festival", thanks to the massive support of their friends and fans who followed them throughout the entire adventure. In November 2006, they are back in the studio to record the second 6-song EP called "The Last Shot". And the rest is history. I mean future!
