About Me

We are a collective of malcontented disco dilettantes.
We refuse compromise, refute adulthood and debunk the rock 'n' roll pretence of authenticity.
We want to create something for everyone and nobody to cherish, and credit everyone with as much and as little taste as we have ourselves. We want you to share this.
We will treat conventional received notions of indie cool with the contempt they deserve, and redefine our culture on our own terms. And we want to help you to do the same.
We are not content with what the locale offers us. We believe it can be better. It should be better. It WILL be better.
We believe in inclusion, in bricolage, in détournement. We believe in mixing.
We believe in mixing joy, and nonsense, and dedication, and creativity, and art, and falling over, and love, and silliness, and thoughtfulness, and subtext, and sexiness, and drinks, and ideas, and some small but significant stab at a culturall revolution. We believe in mixing pretty music with ugly noise.
We believe that the fact that some or all of us are technically unable to "mix" is unspeakably trivial.
Bathos bores us.

BTF-P02(A)

BTF-Exx products are musical events in the Cambridge Barfly, 7:30pm to 12 Midnight. All other information will be released as and when it happens in blog form, along with other BTF products to be released alongside/in conjunction with our events. Look out for acts of guerrilla advertising, subversion, détournement and more traditional forms of propaganda in the near future

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Dancers, singers, wearers of t-shirts featuring anime characters. Cheekbones to cut some shapes. People who swear and smoke and drink too much. Kings and queens of indie snobbery. Ann Shenton. Michel Foucault. Your dad.

BTF-E06 With Twisted Charm. 3rd November. Cellar Bar 8

Twisted Charm are exponents of heavy-heavy monster CCTV techno, according to some left wing broadsheet. The somewhat less high minded NME thinks that they're like a British art school version of The R...

BTF-E05 with Miss Pain. 6th October. Cellar Bar 8

Miss Pain are the fairy godmothers and father of Ban This Filth! As well as making ludicrously irreverent pop music that sounds like the Ronettes battling to the death with the Nation of Ulysses in a...
