Young Lex was born Wayne W. Alexis in Queens N.Y. in 1978. As a kid, he moved around a lot due to the busy schedule his mother kept. He moved to the Caribbean at the age of seven, where he became interested in music. The family he had there were folk singers and they sang for their church's choir, so his music is influence by many different cultures. After finishing school there, he returned to the U.S. and joined the military. It was at this time he was going through a lot of problem and changes in his life and his love for music was a way for him to escape from what was going on around him. He hooked up with a friend called Xavier "X" Butler and started composing beats for a local act in Columbus G.A. Not seeing any kind of progress in this venture, he gave up and tried to live a normal life. Nevertheless, writing and composing was always there to relieve him when he needed it. He then moved to Italy where he hooked up with some other soldiers and formed a group called Frunt Lyne. Young Lex started rapping and composing beats again. This time it was even more serious for him. Even though his group broke up, he decided to pursue his music career and hit it big. He began freestyling in the clubs where he lived and soon built a fan base. He also did countless small shows at these clubs. Since then he has performed in Milan, Jeslo, Treviso, Padova, Brescia and Verona, Italy. He has also performed in different countries like Slovenia, Croatia and Germany. He is now hooked up with DMO Records and is about to release his first cd, entitled “LEX: The Definition of Realâ€. Two singles to look out for are "You Can Get It" and "Move Ma".
