JUST CLICK HEREALBUM WITH MADROTTER DUE OUT BEGINNING OF NEXT YEAR!!!!!!!!Born in Indonesia to a Swiss father and an Indonesian mother, Swerte has lived a diverse life which is recognizable in his constantly-evolving, unique style of rap and hip-hop. During the mid 90’s in Jakarta, Indonesia, Swerte first dove into his hip hop career by forming a rap group, The SouthSiderz, which managed to break into the scene successfully through competitions. The SouthSiderz continued to perform at various venues as an opening act for Indonesian R&B sensation Dewi Sandra. 2 years later Swerte fell into drug dealing due to the economical situation in Indonesia and subsequent lack of performances. In the year 2002, a few months after The SouthSiderz’ last performance in the famed Parkit club, Swerte was charged with possession of illicit substances, and was sentenced to four months at the notorious Rutan Pondok Bambu prison. After serving his sentence, Swerte was deported and blacklisted from Indonesia. In the many years after, Swerte still feels that his roots lie in Indonesia because he never made the decision to leave himself. Since leaving the country, he has been able to return in secret more than once, and he even managed to stage a surprise performance in Bali with his original SouthSiderz crew. Swerte continues to make music, using it as a medium to express his discontent about the “system” and spreading his message of “striving to your best potential and being a conscious influence to those around you” by sharing his experiences. Through this process of music production and influential lyrics, he hopes that one day he will be able to return to his homeland as a recognized artist.Swerte has worked with numerous DJs, MCs, Musicians and Producers such as: Pyrhro, Spoon, Dj Nanny, Indo -Dogg, Boo-Gil, JC, Herdi'OFlo, The Rythm Karmas, MC Prolific, MC Anonymous, Dj Heavy Weight Krate, Danoe, Madrotter, Contempt, Clockwork Beats Production, Ngila and Mister KA.
