Band Members: Upon his arrival to the Atlanta area in 2004, Matt Solik was one of the best kept musical secrets in the area with his energetic and creative worship style.
Matt Solik grew up as a small town kid in the Midwest. He lived on a chicken farm in Oklahoma with his parents and two younger brothers, and attended a small church in Arkansas. As a senior in high school in 1996 Matt’s definition of worship was to sing a rotation of 10 or 11 hymns week after week at church and always skip the 3rd verse. His misunderstanding inspired him to want to know what worship is, and to teach that to others through his songwriting and corporate worship leading.
Upon relocating to Atlanta, he discovered a lifestyle and creative environment that would help to ignite his career. Today, Matt is passionately sharing his music, and showing thousands of people that worship is more than part of a musical trend or something you do at church but a foundational part of his life as a Christian.
In 2005 Matt Solik connected with producer John Briglevich (Third Day, Goo Goo Dolls) to produce a collaborative CD known as The Fusion Worship Project. After a successful church CD, Matt went back to Briglevich and recorded his debut solo Christmas EP released last year now available for purchase.
At 29, Solik exudes a charismatic presence. He is passionately connected to each one of his songs. His lyrics are thoughtful and honest, reminding listeners and worshippers of the excitement of love and the search for purpose. He tips the scales at being vertically oriented, yet operates at the ground level of human relationships. You can find Matt leading worship each Sunday morning at North Metro Church in Marietta, GA.
