Angela McKenzie

Canadian singer, Angela McKenzie uses her smooth and sultry voice to serenade listeners while fighting for a greater cause. Advocating the battle against hunger and poverty, Angela has created a non-profit organization, The AMcK Initiative, to raise awareness and funding for the hungry and the impoverished. Angela's debut album, 9 features songs written by Eve Nelson, Grammy winner Diane Scanlon and Indegrrl foundation founder Holly Figueroa. 9 qualified for three 2006 Grammy Award nominations for Best New Artist, Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance and Best Contemporary Folk Album. Additionally, Angela is the producer and host of the weekly radio program "Initiative Radio" that airs Wednesdays from 10:00 - 11:00 AM (Eastern Time) on WSIA 88.9 FM and WWW.WSIA.FM with an encore presentation on Sundays from 1:00 - 2:00 PM. The objective of Initiative Radio is to feature the work of not-for-profit organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs,) intergovernmental organizations (IGOs,) corporations, persons of repute and ordinary persons whose occupations and personal lives positively impact the local, national, global and universal communities.
