About Me

The time in studionorthbeach
I live and work in a compact studio suite called studionorthbeach from where I thrust out various bits of musical cadences via an electronical chip box with a LCD percolator. I released an album under the name
toucaen
on Colin Newman's (WIRE) swim records:
...intended as a soundtrack to a short film (think the double life of veronique but set around Wythenshawe and on the banks of the irwell...)Of course, the royalties from this record enabled me to live the life of a Howard Hughes type character, 'northbeach towers' standing proud in the middle of an estate in Withington...the yacht moored on the tarmac outside the house has long gone...the champagne long supped...the 142" plasma box stapled to the georgian 'occasional room' long replaced with an Alba microwave which only picks up Channel M... Other pippettes of music are being written as we speak...
Currently globe trekking around the north west filming mileus and people's anxious, wary faces, the frozen music that is architecture, the promotion of Manchester...I mean no harm mind, just learning a trade as best I can....add a few promo's to this and a short documentary on a photographer friend of mine...and soon enough I'd like to get a couple of shorts (not the one's that boy scouts wear) off the ground...I've heard there's a new screenwriter in town called Jack Caramac...you ever see him, point him my way. I'll then imbibe myself with the spirit of Morricone and glide a cotton sheet of music score over the moving pictures in front of me...hopefully in time to the rhythm of people's mouth glugs...
I'm also cultivating a man made male marmalade which alleviates the unsavoury effects of Hirsutism (not the religion but the 'hair issues'). Ah and lest we forget my East Asian Cat - VL-130, whom shall update this site should I take leave of the procedings...I usually detest cats but this one is rather different...you can see his lime helmeted chops underneath my nom de plummage....

My Interests

Walter Matthau in Whalley Range. Terry Thomas in Totnes. Matthew Corbert in Corbieres. Brian Wilson at a Wilson Pickett/Flying Pickets reunion gig. Shi Deyang in Birmingham. Irene Jacob at the Jacob's biscuit factory in Iran. Murakami at a murray mints throwing competition.

My Blog

Cat and start.

Just back from a cat factory this morning. Picked up a new Japanese one which came with a lime hat (see picture). I like it's attitude and general joie de vie it imparts on my mental prints. I'm gon...
