groovediggers

Groovediggers developed a succesful mix of Jazz and beats &samples. Jazzmusician and -composer Frank van Velthoven (Saxes) and programmer/DJ Merijn Knippers (Beats & Samples) initially started collaboration which resulted in jazzy tunes with a contemporary sound. Adding a bassplayer, a guitarist and a percussionist completed the concept. Improvisational elements provide a sense of freedom and adventure to the sound. The interaction between electronic beats & samples and live percussion gives a fat groove that is dynamic and alive. All band members of Groovediggers are trained and experienced soloists who are continuously exploring the limits of their improvisational abilities. Groovedigger-shows are always full of swinging and grooving energy and therefore fit perfectly in festival programs.
