About Me

Hero Atlantic was formed in the winter of 2005. Having worked together in their prior band, Stratosphere, Matt and Eric started on a side project composing more main stream rock songs. Half way into their initial project, Mike was added to the band to play drums. The trio spent early 2007 completing their first self titled album. After completing the new project, the band played various venues around the Pittsburgh area. They were featured on WQED's first battle of the bands as a top five finalist in the tri-state area.Shortly after the battle of the bands the band went back to the drawing board. Eric and Matt began composing a new round of songs. Midway through their writing process, the band added a new drummer and guitar player in brothers Brian and Kevin moving Mike to bass guitar. The updated band continued writing throughout 2008. By the end of that year, the band had written 11 new songs. The band immediately went into the studio to begin the recording of their second album. In the midst of recording Hero Atlantic was chosen again as a top finalist for the WQED battle of the bands. Shortly after, Hero Atlantic was chosen to open for national acts, Saves the Day and Motion City Soundtrack. The band ran into difficulties in recording which lead to a two month album freeze. Shortly after the freeze, the band was on itsâ€™ way to finishing a second full length album. The album is titled "Stories Best Left Untold". It's a culmination of all the bands talents. It brings all the main stream elements while infusing the hard rock edge as well as a contemporary pop sound."Stories Best Left Untold" showcases 11 songs full of layered harmonies, heavy riffs, catchy melodies, and the overall musical talents of the band.
