Welcome to Winnet!
My name is Winnet and I am the singer and songwriter with WINNET.
WINNET was a nickname given to me during my time with the London City Ballet Company where I was a principal/soloist for over ten years before I expanded my career into acting and music. The nickname 'Winnet' has stayed with me ever since and has now become my name as well as the name for my band.
In September we recorded our first single 'Get Out' featuring two other songs, 'An Idea' and 'Nicky' the latter being from the soundtrack of the forthcoming Brodie Films feature 'Goddess'. At the same time we shot the video for Get Out, which will be available for viewing in the near future.
Jack, Joe and myself composed the soundtrack for the Brodie Films production, 'A Hat For The Camel', screened in central London in February 2008. Selected tracks from the film can be heard here on our myspace and copies of the soundtrack album may be obtained by emailing us.
I have always written poems and memories, so when I began writing music and putting my words into songs I began searching for musicians. Jack Stanley was introduced to me through a friend and I met Joe Volante at a party, (an impossible task as he hates parties), so I was extremely lucky! The three of us worked together exploring different ways in which the material could develop, ultimately ending up with our own unique sound and style.
All of our music is written, composed, arranged and produced by myself, Jack Stanley and Joe Volante. Most recent track mixed at Ithil World Studios
We have made three videos. Our first, 'Laugh Again', which is in post-production and its a track I wrote about solid friendship. I based the theme of this video around old 'black and white' comedians, such as The Marx Brothers and Charlie Chaplin. We shot the whole thing in one day on no budget, at a friends home in London. The video can be seen opposite.
