Colvalis

Colvalis is Alicia Colvin, a 21 year old hailing from the streets of East London. Born in Bethnal Green and raised only by her Mother, Colvalis has always had an ear for everything musical! From attending music school at an early age, Colvalis studied clarinet, piano, guitar and singing tuition. Howver, her real passion lay in her vocals and so Alicia decided to pursue a career in music-Thus Colvalis was born!
Her flare for poetry prompted Colvalis to start writing all her own lyrics. In early 2003 she began Jazz vocal tuition with acclaimed Jazz artist Brigitte Bereha and started attending jam sessions where Colvalis performed live.
In early 2005, Colvalis took a break from London and embarked on a 2 year backpacking trip around Asia and Australia. Colvalis has an eclectic musical taste. Her primary influence, growing up in East London, was her Mother's record collection which included Soft Cell, Joe Jackson, David Bowie, Billie Holliday, The Clash and Adam & the Ants. Being of mixed race heritage, Colvalis also integrated herself into the sounds of afrobeat, dancehall, ragga and soul. However, it was Colvalis' travels through the likes of Tibet, China Sri Lanka and Cambodia that really sparked her 'other worldly' fuse.
Colvalis moved to Sydney in late 2005 and began production on her first track 'Where?'. Having co-produced and collaborated with some of the top producers in Sydney this year, Colvalis has finsished 6 tracks and finally returned home to take London by storrrrrrrm!!!
