JUNE 25TH - PETER DOHERTY!
On Thursday 25th June, Peter Doherty will be headlining New Slang! Yep, we're telling the truth. The indie superstar will be playing some of the Libertines and Babyshambles classics that made his name and showed his songwriting talent along with tracks from his acclaimed solo debut 'Grace/Wastelands'! Move fast, we're certain this will sell out!
Support comes from Doherty associates and New Slang regulars Vaults who recently impressed us with Dinosaur Pile Up and Team Waterpolo a little while back.
Entry is £6 with an advance ticket/flyer/mailout printout, £7 without. WE WOULD SERIOUSLY ADVISE YOU BUY AN ADVANCE TICKET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE AS WE OBVIOUSLY EXPECT THIS TO SELL OUT.
New Slang is an 18+ event, so please bring valid photo ID.
New Slang is Kingston's leading indie night mixing up the best in bands we love playing live, and DJs playing the bands we love to dance to afterwards to the early hours. Often they're the same bands and thats why we love doing this so much.. New Slang is now at McCluskys which is on Riverside Walk right by Kingston Bridge. Here's a MAP to help you out. It's still the same people running the night with the same music policy and selection of live bands. We've got a great vibe, with cheaper drinks (pints of Fosters for £2, pints of Strongbow for £2, Vodka mixer for £2.30, Tequila for £2...), a smaller feeling venue but one which actually has a capacity of pushing 1,000 still, a more appropriate door staff team and a better PA for the night.
Finally, some of you probably came down to see our crazy New Slam a couple of weeks back, where Banquet Records got together with long term friends Slam City Skates and set up a game of S.K.A.T.E at our regular New Slang clubnight at McClusky's, Kingston. Watch the entire competition in video form by clicking the banner above and see who walked away with the £200 prize money (and the trophy)! Also, in keeping with the skateboarding theme (although this is just generally something that would be good for the community), please take a second to vote for the redevelopment of King's Field skate park (click HERE ), home to hundreds of BMXers and skateboarders in the local area.
If it's your birthday on the Thursday or the Friday of the week, you and three of your mates can get in to New Slang for free before 11pm! You just need to have proof that it's your birthday, but since you need ID to get in to the club anyway, you'll already have that! We'll also try to find some other special birthday treats for you!
Add us on Facebook! We're no longer using our Facebook profile and instead have a new New Slang group! Add us!
